The following are the steps involved in the testing:
Collection: The patient provides a semen sample by ejaculating it into a sterile container. It is essential to collect the sample through masturbation, ensuring no lubricants or condoms are used that could interfere with the results.
Sample handling: The collected semen sample is allowed to liquefy for about 30 minutes to an hour at body temperature. This enables better analysis and measurement of its various parameters.
Analysis: A laboratory technician examines the semen sample under a microscope. They assess the sperm count, motility, morphology, volume, pH level, and the presence of any white blood cells.
